The Good:
- Virtual Drive — mounts as a local drive on your computer. Files stay in the cloud until you open them. This is genuinely better than Dropbox’s Smart Sync in my experience.
- Selective sync across devices. Choose which folders sync where.
- File versioning — 30 days on free, extended on paid plans. Saved me twice when I accidentally overwrote files.
- Link sharing with password protection and expiry dates.
- EU data center option (Luxembourg). Choose during signup, can’t change later.
- 10GB free tier for trying before buying.
The Meh:
- No end-to-end encryption by default. pCloud Encryption (client-side E2EE) costs extra: €125 one-time or €50/year. Without it, pCloud can theoretically access your files.

My Verdict After 2 Years
